1985 Mercruiser Sterndrive cut out switch

I am trying to find a replacement for my cut out switch on the shift interrupter plate part # 39670a28 is unavailable does anyone know if there is
a aftermarket cut out switch or do I have to purchase the new style plate kit witch is $130.00. and comes with a switch. Thanks

I have heard that the switch may be available from a forklift parts supplier. Don't know of the reliability of it though.

You can modify the old bracket. Then all you have to buy is the new switch; about $40.
Dremel a large cast stud off that is right in front of the detent on the actuator arm.
Then smooth down the remaining aluminum with a grinder.
Line up the new switch exactly in line with the pivot stud on the arm, then drill and tap new holes for the two mounting screws.
