on reassembly of motor if i set my timing statically should i need to do a timing light double check since i don't have a tank big enough without kick all the water out. nearest lake is 15mi away and docks not put out till middle of April or pay a certified merc tec check timing/synchronization and fine tune adjustments but most techs don't want to mess with these old motors.

Just took apart a " freebie " 1978 model 110 parts motor.----I typically loosen that maximum advance screw to remove trigger.----Put it right back to where it was.----I would start your motor up and if it runs well than leave it be.----Spend your $$ as beer tokens for yourself and not the mechanic.
