"Yes same box, just a newer nu

"Yes same box, just a newer number - I don't know for sure but get the impression that everytime Merc re-runs a production line, they change the number (at least at the end of the part number).

You could go all the way back to a 332-7778A3 and find the part to be the same..."

"I have a Mercury 90HP inline

"I have a Mercury 90HP inline 6, 1985 model. When I first start it up, it will run rough as if it is not running on all cylinders. After running for several minutes, you can hear and feel more cylinders cutting in and out. After several more minutes all cylinders will start cutting in, and then suddenly they will all continue to run properly. Once the engine is warm, they seem to be running fine. The problem seemed to get progressively worse through last summer with each visit to the lake, the problem lasting longer each time. What can be the problem? I've also always had a problem with the motor stalling when I give it full throttle when I try to pull up a skier out of the water. It seems I have to throttle up more gradually when uder a heavy load in order for it not to stall."

"its a carb problem, sounds li

"its a carb problem, sounds like a stuck float, flooding on start up. Take cover off, pump fuel bulb and look down each carb throat with a flash light. Any fuel dripping is bad. If a main jet is clogged or the carb hasn't been cleaned its lacking fuel to the cyl or cyl's that it feeds. Lack of fuel means lack of oil. Fix it quick. We always do a compression test and spark test to see how bad the engines been hurt for this reason."
