1985 M30A2 Tohatsu parts

I heard that some Mariner 30hp motors made in 1985 were made by Tohatsu. Is this true and what model numbers were they? For parts reference.

I'm asking for future reference. I recently bought a 1985 30hp Tohatsu(that runs good) and am not having any luck searching the internet in case I need any parts. I like to be one step ahead. The oldest parts that I have found only go back to 1992. Are the trigger coil, exciter coil and cdi unit the same as a 1992?

Year does not matter; Model/Serial is everything. You will have a tough time finding parts for that machine. The oldest parts reference that Tohatsu America has is for the 30A3. So you would be looking for NOS parts on a dusty back shelf at an old-tyme dealer, or picking through the bone yard.

That's what I ran into. I can get a carb kit and impeller kit but that seems to be all. Thanks.
