1985 Johnson 150 help

I'm trying to eliminate as many issues as possible before making a final decision on what to do with this motor!! I have a Johnson 150 V6 that will fire up and run until the water is put to it, it has 80#'s compression on all 6 cylinders (seems low). Any input/suggestions is greatly appreciated!

Compression is low.---------Remove the bypass covers on the side of the block to ibspect pistons / rings.----These covers are held on with 6 screws each.

These gaskets are common for many years.-------------Most shops that do real repairs would have them on hand at about $2 each.------And do you have real spark on all 6 cylinders ?-----That is spark that will jump a gap of 3/8" or more.----------These motors ( on a hose ) will bark and roar on 3 cylinders and sound really powerfull to the untrained ear !
