I just bought a 1985 bayliner with a 125 hp outboard. The tilt motor is missing a plug on the bottom of the unit. I have included a picture of the problem and was just wondering if anyone could tell me what I need to order and do to fix this problem. Thank you for your time.

RRitt works on these. He will probably be along sometime today.
Not really sure if they sell these parts.
That ones the older style.Look on e-bay for replacement?J.

Wow !! Unless RRitt can tell you I would go ahead and buy another used tilt/trim pump but first. Usually if you go to the Marine Engine Home page>Boat Engine Parts>Outboard Motor Parts>Force outboard>Select Engine model>Force 125(1985) if that's right>power trim unit> find the part and you can use that part number sometime on ebay and find it. Hope this helps..

The check valve goes in there and is held in place by a SS retaining clip. The parts are relatively cheap but you should first determine why the retaining clip did not hold. Did somebody mess with the valve body and put it back together wrong? Or did the housing give way and the clip popped out from pressure?

your first order of business is to remove pump assy from engine, pull of valve body, and examine for any cracks or damages.
