1985 Evinrude 25hp support lever spring install

Have a 1985 Evinrude 25hp (E25RCOS). How does the spring (329499) attach to the support lever. Are there any pictures or diagrams? I see from the parts diagram that it goes in between the handle and motor. Thanks for any help.
