1985 90hp vro

i have a 1985 evinrude 90hp vro with 20 psi compression in #2 cylinder and 110 psi compression in the other three. i put some oil in #2 and that brought up the compression to 40 psi. i'm assuming i have a broken ring. i intend to pull the head to see if the piston is shot and/or the cylinder wall is scored. although not optimal, is there a way to pull a piston and put in new rings without pulling the entier power head? tx.
