"wont stay running more than 2 or 3 minutes. the bowls fill up, the engine starts and runs the fuel out of the bowls and shuts down. I just replaced the fuel pump diaphram, however it all went back together very easily. Any thoughts?"

If square than you did the whole kit right?
If triangle than the gaskets are under the check valves right?

"OK, I will assume you have soaked the carbs in proper solvent and blew them out, bought new kits with inlet needles. If so, here is a weird one. My 20 needed a bunch of leaky hoses fixed, crankcase bleed line leaking, dirty carb, and I forget what all else, but it was stil surging and dying at full throttle. After going nuts, I decided to get prop reworked. Either the hub was slipping to some extent, or the blades were bent so as not to be pumping solid water, or both, but nevertheless, the new prop fixed the problem. This occurred to me after I nosed it up to a tree here and let it run full throttle for 15 minutes without missing a beat. Remember, the boat was tied down and lugging, not planing. But, while running free, it seems the fuel pump could not keep up with the over-rev condition."

"The carbs were completely cleaned and blown out. Tonight I disconnected the hose from the filter and turned the motor over and the pump is pumping, I dont know at what pressure, but it is pumping. I noticed tonight that when I start it up, as soon as the the water pumps through it is dying out. when I pump up the primer ball it will start right back up and do the same thing again."
