Did you make sure to shim it correctly? Will be a short lived lower unit if you didn't.

Ended up using Gear Pros, quick and reasonable price.
Now if the rain lets up, I'll be able to test it out on the water.
Hoping the boat smells like Walleye next week!

So, I dragged the boat to Maumee Ohio for the walleye run the first week of April. Did a little driving around and the motor worked good. Had it on Lake Michigan yesterday and twice it bogged down when going from plowing to get it up on plane. otherwise it's been running good.
This has me a little concerned.
