1985 70 hp Evinrude bogs down.

I have a 1985 70 HP Evinrude. Starts great and runs great but When I get it to full throttle it will run for a bit then it bogs down. I can let it set a minute then do it again. Took it out once and it ran great for a few hours then I hit a couple waves and it started again.

Look for water in the fuel.----What happens when someone operates the manual fuel pump ?-----When was cooling system last inspected ?--Check impeller / thermostat and poppit valves for smooth operation.

Sometimes my dad will pump the ball as we're goin and it will keep it goin. Haven't checked any of the other stuff. I'll try to check it out this weekend. Thanks for your help.

If it keeps running when the manual pump is used then you need to inspect the fuel system.----This means from the pick-up screen in the tank right to the caburetors.------------The fuel pump if still VRO is also easy to inspect / repair.

Ok. We replaced all the fuel lines and disconnected the VRO. Maybe we missed a house or didnt get somethin right enough. Thanks again.
