hopeing to find some help on my 35hp johnson ,recently took it to shop and told guy that under load the boat will not take wot it would bog down,so he kept it week then said he rebuilt the carb and set the timeing ,well took it out to lake yesterday to test it out and it ran ok for first 3 seconds of wot ,then it started to surge bk and forth,so replaced the fuel tank and fuel line with one of my brothers boat that we know for sure is good thinking maybe a vac leak, still had the issue, spark plugs are new also ,so kinda stumped as to what it may be any idea's? runs fine at half throttle

Typical "shop". Okay now lets try to fix it. Did the problem start after a storage period? Ever use ethanol? Will it run fine @WOT if you pump primer as your running? If not, then it could still be a restriction at the high speed jet. If pumping the primer DOES help, then I suspect a fuel pump that got injured from ethanol, or perhaps water and/or debris infection. Ethanol tends to "relax" the diaphragm which creates less of a pulse and resulting in low fuel flow and pressure. if you get non oxy, make sure of one thing. The pump that shares the same hose with ethanol will hold up to a gallon until you start to get your pure petrol. So pump the first gallon in your car or truck.

I just researched the ethanol requirements nationwide and I came to learn that the "heavier use" states are Minnesota (my home), Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Washington. Maine has banned ethanol sales and Florida and Hawaii have reversed mandates.......probably realizing that moisture and ethanol are not a good combination. The rest of our states are still "on the fence".......you have to ask the retailer what is in their tanks. There are no mandates in effect......yet, still arguing about it.
