"Friends boat: Idles fine, dies with throttle. When he first squeezed the primer bulb it collapsed. After it re-inflated he tried pumping primer bulb again. This improved things, he made it to the ramp. Any ideas what is causing this problem?

Valve on tank was open. Lines? Carb? Other?"

if it helps when you pump the primer one of 2 things is going on:

1. he has an air leak

2. his fuel pump is out
