I have a 1984 Mercury Tower of power 115. Where the shift cable attaches to the slide in the lower cowling the Slide runner has broken. That part is no longer available. My question is can I drill through the runner and add a nut and bolt to hold the shift cable on? Or do I have to do something else. Wondering if anyone else had this problem since the park is no longer available.
