1984 Merc 50 tiller outboard strator replacement issue

Afternoon to all. I have an issue and need help on how to position/point the newer version stator on my merc. There are no markings on the newer strator on which position to bolt on. The newer version replacement looks nothing like the older version. See pixs below. I have searched and have found no instructions and there was no instructions provide with the new stator. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Locate it so the wires come out where the old ones did. Usually, it does not matter how the stator is oriented (but not always per a discussion I recently had with a CDI tech).
