I removed the carbs and cleaned them including removing jets and reassembled. Motor starts and idles fine but I think rpm is too high. Only on a hose.. The bottom carb leaks fuel out the air intake when not running. I will remove the carbs again and check out the bottom one. I think this means the needle valve is not sealing properly. Any thing else I should check.?Thanks for any help.

On a flushette (hose), the idle rpm should be, depending on the engine shaft length:

20" shaft = 1000 rpm

25" shaft = 1200 rpm

(Carburetor Float Setting)
(J. Reeves)

With the carburetor body held upside down, the float being viewed from the side, adjust the float so that the free end of the float (the end opposite the hinge pin) is ever so slightly higher (just ever so slightly off level) than the other end. And when viewed from the end, make sure it is not cocked.

Thousands of parts in my remaining stock. Not able to list them all. Let me know what you need and I'll look it up for you. Visit my eBay auction at:

ll I pulled both carbs and soaked, rinsed and blew out with air. 2 new kits installed and adjusted floats like Joe Reeves instructed. Pumped up fuel, no leaks idles at 1100 on hose so i think I will back the trailer in the lake and see what happens when I put it in gear and increase speed. Do not have legal papers yet as previous owner died, lein shown dated 1984 on a bank that no longer exists. I am working with the state(va) to get it straight. I have been told I can operate 30 days with a bill of sale and old title, I may try that and run for a while.thanks for all the help
