So I am having trouble with my 9.9 water pump. Engine over heats with just a dribble and a lot of smoke from telltale|exhaust outlets. I have put in a new water pump, replaced thermostat (had been run without one because there was not an old one inside), cleared the water tunnels in power head and water jacket, replaced head gasket and exhaust housing/power head gasket. I have shot water/ air compressor up through the power head and out tell tale with good stream, seems to be no obstruction there. I have inspected the water intake and the screen in the foot and forced water through. Doesn’t seem to be any obstruction there either. After some research I decided to attempt to activate the water pump by turning the drive shaft with cordless drill in a test tank, no water is coming out of the water pump when I do this so is it safe to assume it’s the water pump? I have the impeller seated on the key properly so I know it’s not that. PLEASE HELP!!! Out of options and I know it has to be something simple I’m overlooking
