Those were essentially the same from one year to the next.-----Starter set-up from an 81 model to the 98 models will fit.----------20 / 25 / 30 HP were the same.

I have 20 hp johnson I installed a used starter kit. with the kit I was sent a flywheel and a different lenth full advance screw it was shorter. for whatever reason now it doesn't run it seems out of time. why does the flywheel need change. I have a manual I try following it but still no go it starts but coughs and quits.
I need help please.Al Gotch
