"Coming off the water, my friend started pulling me out of the water before I pulled the motor up. It scraped bottom as I tried to trim up. The boat was backed back into the water but trim would not come up. When I attempt to raise or lower the unit, I here what sounds like static from the trim electrical box. I am far from a mechanic or electrician. One person thought it was a blown fuse, but that didn't seem likely since I was hearing a noise when I attempted to raise or lower the motor. We had to pull the boat completely out of the water and manually raise the motor. I did have a blown fuse in the fuse panel, not sure it was for the trim, but I still could not get the trim to operate. Any suggestions?"

"Check, clean, and tighten connections pertaining to the PTT. Even a tight but dirty connection will result in a voltage drop.

Remove the trim box assembly cover to check for possible frayed wires etc.

With the engine in the extreme up position, the reservoir should be full to overflowing.

Trace the wires from the PTT electric motor back to its connector, disconnect it, then run jumper wires from the battery directly to the electric motor.... negative to one wire, positive to the other. If the PTT functions, the electric motor is obviously okay.

A relay could go bad which would affect one mode or the other (up/down) BUT unlikely that both relays would suddenly fail. Let us know what you find.

The only issue I have is that

The only issue I have is that it was working fine prior to getting stuck on bottom. I wonder if I did fry the relays trying to move it up or down while it was stuck. Could this happen? Is there fuses for the trim? Where might I find them or would they be in the fuse box with the other fuses?

"I don't recsll if that unit incorporates a fuse or not BUT if you have noise coming from the PTT box when you engage the switch, then if there is a fuse, it's not blown."
