1984 evinrude V-6 150 ignition problems

So I just got this boat about a month ago and honestly is the first outboard I’ve ever owned (always inboards). Runs fine on mufs in the driveway and even in the water while I’m neutral, I can rev it as high as I want. I put in gear and can run around all day at idle speed. The moment I give it throttle in gear it cuts out and dies. Took it to a certified mechanic and he ran through the ignition system, swapping power packs and checking with a DVA. His Diagnosis, only firing in one bank cylinders 1,3 and 5 not on 2,4 and 6 caused by a bad Stator. So I got it home ordered a new 35 amp OEM Stator, installed it and went back to the lake and no change. So I have replaced the $350 Stator and still no fix. What are the possible options here and how do I fix it? 2 little boys dying to go fish off the boat so I’m willing to pay for someone’s time if need be I just want it fixed.
 
Information for you.----They all run fine on a hose.---A V-6 will sound nice running on 3 of 6 cylinders.-----And you can damage that fine machinery by winding it up in neutral !!----Take ohm readings on sensor coils.-----Check the pins in the rubber plug in connecters for powerpacks.

When you say"no change" ,does that mean it has no spark on2,4 and6 or dies on throttle up?
 
I apologize my response didn’t post but I really appreciate your responses. @Rwbutler I meant it still acts exactly the same as it has. Dies when throttle up and I pulled spark plugs while running and attached to cables and tried to jump spark to ground bolt and no spark. @racerone, very good advice on Regina it up and causing damage. I did not actually do this, was just portraying no problem without a load. Are you talking about checking the rubber connectors before or after the power pack or both as well as what sensor coils are you referring to?
