1984 Evinrude 30hp

Stumped.
I changed the solenoid because I could not hear the solenoid click. The new solenoid clicks but does not crank the starter. I jumped from the battery to the starter lead on the solenoid, starter cranks fine. I jump from pole to pole on the solenoid, nothing. Faulty new solenoid?

Is this a factory replacement solenoid or something else ?

OMG, I read my post and saw my problem. I went out and cleaned the battery terminals. Some people think all the time, some don't.
