"just bought a project chaparal,boats beautiful needs gimble bearing? I was told and a starter it has the 470 in it was wondering if there is an automotive crossover for this lil beast?"

I always shudder at the words

I always shudder at the words "Project" and "470" in the same sentence. I think they are good motors when they run and have been well maintained but...good luck!

"yeah I understand about the explosion hazard been running inboard outboard V drives since I was 6,but I don't wanna spend the $200 on an engine specific starter if there is an automotive crossover I can put in one of my chevy explosion cases"
 
Josh you can take it to an aut

Josh you can take it to an auto-electric rebuilder and it will cost a lot less than new. Make sure they know it's a marine starter but I don't think it matters. The brushes and bushings kit will be specific to that starter.
