1984 99 Mariner Help

"Thanks for the help so far. T

"Thanks for the help so far. Today I took the Queen Mary out for a shake down cruise and she did very well. However, at full throttle after 10-15 seconds of it slows down. All in all I am very pleased. With all the pep it has the motor could notn have been used too much.

I put some Sea Foam in the 50:1 mixture.

Is .35 the correct plug gap? Is closing the carburator screw all the way then backing it out 1.5 turns the correct adjustment?

Thanks,

George

"George, if I'm looking it

"George, if I'm looking it up right, your motor should be running NGK B7HS plugs gapped at .024

Your initial carb adjustment sounds correct - with minor adjustments made from there in about 1/8 turns as required to smooth it right out..."

"Thanks - plugs are correct, h

"Thanks - plugs are correct, however the Gap is .35. I will correct the gap to .24.

How about the drp off at full throtle - is it too rich?

Thanks,

George"

"it shouldn't drop off at

"it shouldn't drop off at full throttle, check for loose hose (air in fuel line), open tank vent or try squeezing fuel bulb at WOT. Looks like Graham is still sleeping.

"Thanks - I was not 100% certain. Its been a long time since I had a 2 cycle motor. I have another boat in Florida with a 4 hp Nissan 2 stroke so I got old, forgetful and spoiled.

Thanks,

George"
