1984 7.5hp carb rebuild/clean

I have been trying to follow my Solec Manual but it is hard to see some pics. The inlet piece with the spring that sits under the float, does the spring sit up towards the float or does the point? Secondly there is a brass screw on top of the carb close to the black throttle piece. Does that screw need to be removed? Is there another part under the screw?
