i performed yearly winterizing a while ago, playing with it recently i could not move the "gear lever" (?) out of reverse.
the winterizing i performed was my first experience with boat motors, utilizing clymer and a phone call or two to the local shop along the way had me thinking i performed everything correctly yet here i am.
if i recall correctly i had it in reverse for dropping and reinstalling the lower unit. besides plugs and rebuilding the carb this is all the work i have done. the lower unit was difficult to reinstall but with some patience and without forcing, it did go in.
