1984 15hp Evinrude Problems

"Well guy's I have a motor

"Well guy's I have a motor with a problem that I can't seem to work through.
This motor had sat for a couple years before I bought it and when I started it for the first time it would only run with the choke on but only for a couple of minutes so I rebuilt the Carb., Fuel Pump and Water Pump.
The problem now is that when I start it, it will run for a short while and then start sputtering, drop a cylinder and die shortly after.
The plugs have good blue spark right after it quits and they have gas on them and the primer bulb has fuel in it so I don't think it's a fuel problem.
If anyone has any ideas I am all ears.

"I just don't understand it, I bypassed the fuel pump and it took off and ran like brand new so I hooked it back up using the fuel pump and it still runs.
It is going to be hard to trust this thing very far from shore because of the way it ran before this.
