1983 mercury 70hp fuel pump

Is there a spring in my fuel pump when I took it off there was not one but it came in the repair kit

If you don't see a spring, then you probably don't need it. The kit probably gave you more than you needed just in case. you shouldn't worry about it.

Is everything else running fine?

There usually are springs in these fuel pumps.---Best to consult your manual.

Put new diaphragm in and check valve still not getting enough fuel pressure left the spring and plastic cap out and cannot figure out where the spring would go. any help would be great thanks
