Just purchased a boat with thi

Just purchased a boat with this motor for $300.00. Previous owner has receipts for complete powerhead rebuild. Starts and Idles but dies immediately upon applying throttle. Said he thought it was timing and was tired of messing with it. Where should I start troubleshooting?
