I am looking at a 1983 140hp evinrude and want to do a compression check on it and look for other things that I would need to evaluated before I buy it. The owner said the man he bought the moter from had it rebuild 2 yrs ago. I have not done a compression test in many years and never on a outboard.
1. Is there a site that will explain how to do a compression test or was there a discussion on how do do one
2. What amount of pressure should I be looking for
3.What else should I inspect
