1982 or 1984 Mercury 9.8 identification

Good morning fellas, I’m new here but long time Mercury 9.8 owner. I am trying to figure out the year model of my 9.8 to order parts. My serial number starts 603 so that would think that it was a 1982 model but the decals which are original are the brown and tan which is 1984 model. I’ve had this motor since 1991 and it’s still running great. Is there a difference in parts for a 1982 and 1984 model? Impeller mainly. Thanks

The old impeller will have a number on it.----It depends on what lower unit is installed on your motor.-----Different driveshaft diameter.-----Number will end with 80 or 81 on your impeller if factory part.
