1982 Mercury 50hp help

Hi all, I have a mercury 1982 50 hp 4cyl outboard. There is no spark on # 1 cyl. Replaced stator,coil and switchbox. Still no spark....any ideas? Thanks Dave

Doesn't that just leave the plug wire, internal wiring harnesses and the trigger?

Tried swapping plug wires to no avail. also i made a mistake. I replaced the trigger and not the stator.

You can run a complete check on every possible spark killing connection backtracking from the plug. Make sure you have no corroded posts or wiring connectors on the large and small internal wiring harnesses. Wiring insulation loss is a very good possibility with engines that age. At least you don't have to put the boat in the water to solve the issue. Is there ever an intermittent power surge when there may be full cylinder count spark?
