1982 Johnson 60 water flow

Ive got the motor firing up and running good after cleaning out the carbs, replacing some fuel lines, and adjusting a float. Everything seems to be in check to hit the water but I wanted to get some input on water flow. Ive got the motor in a big barrel of water to make sure its running cool and pulling water. Impeller was replaced last year, it seems to be in good shape. The block is warm to the touch but not hot, its got a good flow coming from the nipple. But I'm noticing water coming out from between the lower unit housing and the midsection, not spraying but flowing at a decent rate. Also a little bit seems to be dripping, not flowing out, from below the power head housing. Is this normal for these 82 Johnson 60 motors? The barrel I'm using for water is just big enough to get the lower unit in, almost to mid section... may be restricting some water out flow thru the prop and its coming out in other areas? Just want to be sure I don't lock the motor up because I'm in too big a hurry to catch some fish. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Take it to the lake, run the heck out of it and then see what it's doing.

The water coming out between the mid section and lower unit is normal,just 2 metal surfaces joined together,no gasket involved there
