1982 7.5 Johnson won't run.

My 7.5 johnson, 1982, won't run. Just replaced the fuel pump, spark plugs. Good spark to the plugs. I sprayed some ether into the carb and it ran (yeah I know you really shouldn't) enough to use up the ether. Clogged jet in carb? If so, after I take the carb down and clean it, how is the starter cord and spring rewound to use again?

Try using a squirt bottle with fuel in it, if you can keep it running that way, pull the carb and overhaul it.
You don't have to unspool the starter rope to remove the carb. Just remove the two top bolts on the starter and GENTLY move it just enough to remove the bolt for the carb.
