I recently bought this 81' johnson 7.5hp outboard. When I bought it it was in parts and since then I've used the parts diagrams here to reassemble most of the motor. My troubles come when I'm trying to assemble the parts that go below the flywheel. When I try to assemble them as I'm "assuming" they go in the diagram the throttle will barely move. I know this would be easier if I had a manual but I would like to get everything back together so I can find out if there are any missing parts, check the compression and check for spark before I spend too much on this motor.
If I disconnect the throttle the cable moves freely, its the plate that mounts beneath the flywheel that barely moves.
