I'm trying to figure out what the heck is going on with my 1981 25 HP Johnson Outboard. I haven't had issues with it until recently and have tried almost everything that I can think of to fix it. I live in small town Iowa and the only Marina closest to me that I can haul it to can't get me in until the end of summer. I'd like to have it running in July so I can enjoy the summer out on the water.
I've search all throughout this forum and haven't found a solution to my problem. It's hard to explain what's going on so I attached a video for reference. Basically, the throttle seems to be cutting out once the motor gets hot. The motor idles fine and actually can go full throttle for about 5-10 minutes before it starts to act up. I've replaced the carburetor, gas filter, and thermometer, yet nothing has worked.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could at least put me in the right direction so that I know what to at least look for or replace.
