"Sorry, But you made me laugh a little which I can always use a laugh. lol Where do you go boating where you would be required to use an air filter? I don't want to go near that waterway.lol By the way the first time I cracked open a cowl I do remember looking for the air filter.lol There are or could be bug screens on the openings of the cowl.(not always though) Check those. The bugs where I live make my engine run better though. They have pretty high octane from sipping on the beer cans the kids leave at the lake and such.lol So I just leave mine off. lol Is the fuel tank where you found the mesh screen filter? That is helpful info. IBNFISHN is right theres only one unless one was added besides the one in the fuel tank. By the way don't add one. You think it's laggin now? Please just take my word for it and don't add one. If anything screen the fuel at the pump nossel.That shouldn't be necessary with the price of fuel but....(Ok I have seen screens elsewhere but not filters for those who picked up on that.) And what tube were you yanking on? Never mind don't answer that question. Then I am sorry. lol Again IBNFISHN is right you need to tell us more detailed info on the performance of your engine. Like when it is crapping out? In the lower end, mid, upper end (rpm's), when it's hot, cold, after you hit it across the lake,river, waterway, etc.. and then shut down and try and start it immeadiatley after the short shut down? Or does it run bad from the time you start it till you shut it down? etc... How long ago was "like it was before"? Last season? I smell alot of different fishy fix's. But this isn't the fishing forum.lol Oh God help me stop...lol
