I bought an 81 Evinrude 115 model E115TLCIH last year from a marine shop that had pulled it off a pontoon boat. They had been using it as a parts motor so a few parts had to be replaced. This is my first outboard, well boat actually, This process of putting this motor back together has been lick putting a puzzle together with having an incomplete picture. I have the manual from Seloc Marine online. I have referred to parts diagrams from this fine site as well.

My current issue is the power tilt and trim assembly. The diagram shows 581960 Cable Assy, Sending unit. I cannot find said sending unit referenced anywhere. Mine is missing the arm and I am not even sure its good if I just found the arm. There is a number on it. It was found under where the Arm would have been so and I am not coming up with anything. 5118418. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Was it apart of the indicator gauge assy.?

To add to this I don't have the junction box nor the TnT solenoid. I have found a few on Ebay, etc. I also don't know if the motor and trim cylinders are any good at this point. I am trying to see if I can find the missing pieces to this puzzle for less than an alternative TnT solution, such as if a newer setup or a universal TnT set exists.

Thank you for your help. I will gladly answer any questions, clarify, upload pictures, if that helps. .

Is it a 3 wire trim motor or 2 wire ?-----Sending unit is shown on the " exhaust housing " page.

YES!! Thank you very much! It is a 3 wire, by the way. By chance do you know how I can test the unit? I may be able to buy the arm and call it good in this case.

Beware. There are some sending units that are not compatible with certain gauges.

Thanks for the heads up. Not to head too far down this rabbit hole, but are there universal sending units I can look for? I'm pretty sure I'll find an original gauge on ebay, but I am looking at a couple of gauge sets if I get the motor running. It has none at the moment. The first gauge on my list is a tach before i put it in the water.
