1980's Johnson 6 HP -J6RCCS

Hasn't been started in about 8 yrs. any suggestions about where to begin with preping it to run again?

Change oil on lower unit.-----------Install a new impeller.-------------Torque cylinderhead screws.---------------------If it was stored with carburetor full of fuel, that will need cleaning.------------If carburetor was stored dry , no problem. Mix new fuel at 50:1 and you are good to go.

Thanks Racer. That all makes sense. Any idea where I can find the specs for these... torque values, impeller schematic, etc., short of ordering a $40 manual?

--------------3 bolts / fasterners and the lower unit drops down. Water pump is right there.--------------No need to worry about shift shaft.--------------Head bolts torque to 100 inch lbs.
