1980 OCM replacement motor

What type of engine can I replace the 3.8L OMC engine in my 1980 Reinell? The person I purchased it for had left the manifold and one head off of the engine while it sat outside in the elements. I think the block is cracked.

And can I use an old chevy engine to replace my OMC motor, I ask this because it says GM on the head.
