1980 Evinrude 70hp opinions

I am considering purchasing this motor...any particular strengths or weaknesses associated with these 3 cylinder omc's????

Will the owner run the engine before you buy it?
Check the compression and and lower unit oil for any water.
I personally think the 3 cylinder engines are very good engines, but they can have problems like any other. Prior maintaince can make or break an engine, in the end an engine is a crap shoot could be great or give you headaches.
