1980 25hp question

i have a 1980 25hp sea-horse(j25rcs) and was wondering how or why the 35hp and the 25hp both are 521 cc's and have 10 more or 10 less hp? and can i make mine have 35hp?

I have the same motor. If you're thinking of upgrading it, the short answer is its probably not worth it. Just sell or trade your 25 for a 35.

would you consider selling it? i have 80% of the parts for one besides the one i got and have another boat without a motor.
