1980 18 hp mercury engine

I am trying to find a float for my carb, the carb number is bc2b, can anyone help me find one, i have been looking online for a while the old part number i think is 1399-8139.

It's the same float as used in the 20 and 25 hp carbs. Try looking for one of them.

looks like just rotten, been sitting a long time, large hole in side of it, i may have to try to repair if i cant find one.

Try calling seaway marine the may have one on the shelf?

they did'nt have one, suggested ebay, and i have already tried them, hoping someone out there can help me , i am running out of options, worder if another carb would work on this engine?

Thanks, but that is the wrong float, mine is not round, old part number for the one i need is, 1399-8139

Well first off, your 1399-8139 was superseded by 1384-8704A1 and yes it is NLA in most places.

The good news - BAM in Florida has them in stock www.mercruiserparts.com

The bad news - the list price is $103.85 (yes just for the float).

The not quite as bad news, they sell them (discounted) for $93.63 - plus shipping of course.
