1980 140hp johnson

I just always plumb em #1 carb to #1 inspection cover. #2 to #2, etc. If'n ya don't have fittings on all 4 inspection covers then there are some tees involved.

Best diagram I got is from Seloc and it ain't worth a chit. Won't even bother scanning/posting it. Shows the hoses cris-crossing in such a way you cain't tell which one's pointin where.
 
I thought you always crossed them on a side but I may be wrong. That's on an older v-4.

Will do. Waitin on some Tygon. Way I got it plumbed now I can't simply swap hoses. On either end. Gotta pull the carbs to tie the recirc hoses onto the intake. Oh joy ...
