"Tried to search for this info. but didn't have much luck sifting through all of the great info. on this site. I was fishing today and to my dismay my prop. fell off. As a result I have a few questions.
model - 30M
ser# - 689 s 026908 made in Japan
I think it may be an 84 but am not sure.
Is this the Merc or Yamaha version?
Will I be looking for a Merc or Yamaha prop?
What pitch prop would be best? I believe it had the original prop, which until it fell off suited my needs perfectly, but I don't know what pitch it was.

"Bob, it is in fact a 1985 "A" model Mariner built by Yamaha.

You can use either a Merc or Yamaha prop (sometimes the exact same prop from Yami is 10 bucks cheaper).

The factory prop was probably a 9 7/8D 10 1/2P part number 48-81649.

Mercury's Black Diamond model QA3808R would be the modern eqivalent and sells for about 99 bucks - ditto Michigan Wheel's 22002MAR which goes for about $105

Of course if you look around online there is always a deal somewhere..."
