Hello! I just bought a 1979 Sea Ray 210 Cuddy for $200, but need to replace the Coupler. I'm told this is between the drive and the engine and that both need to be removed fully. I have a number of questions for you all, thanks in advance for any help
(1) Where can I find the right service manual?
(2) what is a good way to lift the engine up and out without expensive shop equipment (just in my garage) and
(3) Any tips on winterizing this engine before it gets cold?

To replace a coupler the outdrive MUST be removed first.
The engine comes out second, two rear mounts ( be careful and remember the parts and the order in which they are assembled!!!!!) and two side mounts. Some remove the mounts from the stringers and some remove the large 1 1/8 hex nuts (top ones only as this is your alignment adjustment).
If you have a support beam that a chain fall can be hooked up to that is best if not it will be difficult to get the engine high enough unless you do the work in the boat with the engine high enough to spin it around to get to the bellhousing

The coupler is under the bellhouseing at the rear of the engine, it is bolted to the flywheel.

Send me a personal message with a email address and I will send you the outdrive service manual in pdf and the engine service manual in pdf. Note they are large files so a good email address is required that allows large files.

Winterizing............wait till it gets cold and ask then............

Also there will be a need for at least one special tool, the alignment bar to align the gimbal bearing to the coupler which is accomplished by adjusting the side motor mount hieght.....
