Help! My 140 runs great out of

Help! My 140 runs great out of the water but I put it in the water and can't get the motor to stay running on idle and when I put it in gear I am getting no power. It sounds like way to much fuel to the carbs but I can't figure out how to adjust that. The choke is working fine and the plugs are new. Anyone know how to adjust the fuel on the carb or have any other suggestions on what it might be? Trying to get it fixed by Thursday and no marina can get it fixed till next week.

Obviously it only " sounds " great out of the water to you.Knowing the history on those motors I suggest you start with a compression test. Then do a spark check to make sure there is spark that will jump a gap of 7/16" or better at each cylinder.The high and low speed jets are fixed --- no adjustments on them.
