"Been working on this lil motor for awhile, got it to run nice, but see and feel barely any water comming out of the exaust lil'holes, also a blackish grime comes out of it. Is that normal?
how do i know the motor is cooling down enough?"
 
If the motor is overheating th

If the motor is overheating the paint on the exhaust plate and cylinder head will usually discolor. These engines tend to run pretty hot even when the cooling system is working.

Why take a chance. The lower unit comes off easy enough. Pull it down and inspect the pump. Hook a water hose up to the water tube and let the water flow through the engine. You can run the engine like this and see if there are any hot spots where water is not circulating.

The yellowish color around the

The yellowish color around the exhaust relief holes probably indicates that you have an overheating issue.

The water pump is on the lower unit; it will come off with the gearcase and driveshaft.
