"I am thinking of purchasing a 1979 3L mercruiser inboard? It looks clean and appears to run well. Is this one of Mercs better performers? Or am I getting into a gas guzzling hog?
Can anybody share their experiences with this model, or suggest some things I should watch for!"

if you live close to central Fl I have a spare one of those engines. It was given to me with the purchase of my boat last year.. the last owner told me he found a 3.7L wich is currently in the boat so I know nothing about that specific one but I've heard good things about them. if you do purchase this boat and are close to me let me know we'll do some dealing cause my wife wants "it out of the garage NOW!!!"
