1979 35hp no water flow

bought from a dealer 2 years a

bought from a dealer 2 years ago has always ran fantastic. Never a problem! started it up today and no water was coming out the exhaust ports or the jet from under the powerhead. Before i look to the clymer book and rip this apart what are the possible causes of no water exiting at all. I thought impeller first but i would think some water would be coming through. but i got nothing.
