1978 mercury 9.8 110 thunderbolt

I’m trying to replace the rubber seal that is on the top of the copper water tube where it seals at the powerhead. Does anyone know how the copper tube comes out or does it come out? I’m replacing the rubber seal and nylon spacer. Thanks
